The Artist

Now this is something you don't see every day (unless you're tuned in to TCM): a silent, black-and-white comedy(/drama, from the looks of the trailer). There are thousands of those, yes, but not coming soon to a theater near you. Harvey Weinstein entered The Artist in competition at Cannes at the last minute, and it's premiere was met with overwhelmingly positivity. It's a fair share more upbeat than many of the bleak fare that tends to populate. the festival, this year included.

The Artist will be released this fall, and here's to hoping it gets the awards platform it seemingly deserves. This trailer is nothing short of magical and transportive. How beautiful that a movies like this can still be made.
