I can't really find much nice to say about this poster, as colorful-but-bland as it is. However, the movie is worth noting, if only for its director, Christophe Barratier. Barratier previously helmed the moving, beautiful Les Choristes (which scored a well-deserved Oscar nomination) and the delightful musical Paris 36. War of the Buttons chronicles a gang war that breaks out between kids in Nazi-occupied France, during which one of the kids falls in love with a Jewish girl in danger of being exposed. The kids band together to help protect her.
It sounds like a good story, and with Barratier behind the camera, I'm optimistic about this one.
War of the Buttons hits theaters July 18.
