Great Music: The Fountain

Clint Mansell's score for Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain is my favorite in all of film.  Beautiful, contemplative, thumping, soaring.  It's one of the means for brilliantly weaving three disparate story-lines together into a cohesive, breath-taking whole.  This track, "Death is the Road to Awe," has a thrilling, building momentum that leads to an explosion at about 7:37, one of my very favorite moments in the score.  This is one of the soundtracks I'm most likely to put on when walking across campus (especially during the winter) or attempting to write a paper.  Every track is gorgeous and evocative.
