The new trailer for Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer's (Run Lola Run) Cloud Atlas is more succinct than the behemoth of a trailer that came before, but still impresses with its sprawling scope and fantastic cast. The film will be seen at the Toronto International Film Festival, which starts this weekend, so we'll soon have an idea if the film manages to weave together its disparate parts into a satisfying thematic and narrative tapestry. Even if each part only works separately, Cloud Atlas should still be a sight to behold.
The cast includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Ben Whishaw, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Susan Sarandon, and my premature choice for MVP of the film, Jim Broadbent.
Cloud Atlas hits theaters October 26.
