Tomorrowland Teaser Trailer

Brad Bird's Tomorrowland - the director's first film since Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - has been shrouded in mystery since its announcement, with only hints of what it might be about or involve.  Now, Disney has released the first teaser for the film (I imagine it'll be accompanying Alexander and the Horribly, Terribly, Very Long, Not Short Title this weekend), which is truly a tease.  The spires of Tomorrowland rise over the plains, looking a bit like Minas Tirith from Return of the King, and George Clooney provides an enigmatic voice-over.

The official description:

From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s “Tomorrowland,” a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.

Disney is clearly betting big on the film, giving it a prime late May release, where it'll pick up steam as The Avengers: Age of Ultron starts to slow down.  Bird has yet to disappoint, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he has in store here.

Tomorrowland hits theaters May 22, 2015.
