No movie gets to me like It's a Wonderful Life. If you haven't seen the movie: 1. WHO ARE YOU? 2. Don't watch this clip. By this point in the movie, I'm a mess of sobbing sappy happiness. The juxtaposition of George's lowest moment with the joy of being alive is so powerful, it's a shame so many people only watch this movie during the holiday season. Enjoy.
I love this film. It often gets written off as being overtly cheesy, but there's some real, deep, heart there to behold. The chronicle of the man who only got what he wanted once in his life, and he just about had to take it, now being confronting what it means to be a living and loved man. Beautiful moment!
ReplyDeleteEasily one of my all-time favorite films. I prefer to take the apparent cheese as its charm; it's a relic of a different time, and a beautiful one at that.
