Les Miserables, I couldn't be more excited for Tom Hooper's forthcoming big screen adaptation, which is currently shooting. The
King's Speech helmer is doing what many filmmakers have wanted - and failed - to do in bringing the sprawling musical epic to theaters, and with such an amazing cast, I'm hopeful that he will do so in grand style.
Hugh Jackman plays Jean Valjean, a French convict imprisoned for stealing bread to feed his sister's family. It should be a meaty role that I'm hoping will garner Jackman his first Oscar nomination. Despite amazing turns in
The Fountain and
The Prestige, among others, Jackman has only shown up at Hollywood's biggest night as the (best) host (ever).
